Ischia

It is the largest of the islands in the Gulf of Naples.

First Greek island colony in the western Mediterranean,

frequented by the ancient Romans who appreciated its hot thermal springs.

Today called GREEN ISLAND for its lush vegetation
or even ISOLA DELLE TERME for its numerous thermal mineral springs,
even present in the sea.

​

It is easily reached by ferry, from Naples Porta di Massa and Pozzuoli
and by hydrofoil from Naples Molo Berevello.

An efficient bus service connects the six municipalities:
Ischia Porto, Barano, Casamicciola, Lacco Ameno, Forio, Serrara Fontana
of which Sant'Angelo is part, an ancient fishing village.
